Contract types: which template fits what?

The generator has three templates, and each adapts the form to a type of agreement. This page explains what the templates are made for, how they differ and what the contract contains. All templates create a symbolic agreement between two adults, not a legally binding contract (see Symbolic agreement).

1. The templates in brief

You choose a template first and can change it later. What you have written is kept, and fields that do not exist in the new template are only hidden.

In every template the Dominant (the one who leads) fills in the form. The Submissive (the one who follows) reads the contract and signs, and cannot change it. If you want to change something, you create a new contract.

2. Dominant/Submissive

Suits Suits you if one of you has a leading role and the other a following role, whether in agreed activities, in everyday life, or both. All titles are in the same list, for example Lord or Owner, and Dominant and Submissive are preselected.

Early in the form the Dominant chooses what the Dominant decides over:

  • Agreed activities with a limits list (preselected). The Dominant answers yes, maybe or no for each activity and enters hard and soft limits after you have talked together.
  • Scope of authority. You agree which areas of life the Dominant can decide over: finances and belongings, body, health and appearance, social life and contact with others, work, education and digital access, and sexual access. In the community this is often called TPE (Total Power Exchange). When scope is chosen, some options that require the Submissive to agree each time are not offered.
  • Both.

Scope of authority is an agreement between you, not a right under the law. The Submissive can always say no and withdraw consent, and the more areas the agreement covers, the more important check-ins and reviews become. Read more under Symbolic agreement and Consent and limits.

The Collar certificate and the Rule book are preselected. "Safeguards for the Sub" is on by default: points that protect the Submissive, for example their own network or work. The Dominant can remove them, and the form then shows what is no longer stated in the agreement. Remove them only after you have talked about it.

3. Pup play / pet play

Suits Suits you if one of you has an animal role and the other leads the role as handler. The contract has fields for role, pet name and rules for the role, for example how the role begins and ends, and that outside the role the parties are equal adults. You can choose pet play activities from the checklist. The standard document is the Rule book.

4. Daddy/Mommy and little

Suits Suits care role play between adults, where one is the caregiver and the other is the "little", a more playful and dependent role in the play. Little activities, for example drawing, soft toys and a bedtime routine, are always kept separate from sexual contact. The contract has a fixed sentence stating that both are over 18 and that the role play is between adults. It cannot be removed. Sharing with third parties, images and optional themes are not available in this template.

5. Optional themes

In Dominant/Submissive and Pup play / pet play the form has one step, "Optional themes", with themes that are otherwise not included: hotwife/cuckolding, blackmail, public play/risk play, forced bi, chastity, condoms and bodily fluids, branding and marking, face smothering and consequences.

None of them is ticked in advance. Only the themes the Dominant ticks get a step of their own and appear in the contract. If a theme is not ticked, nothing from it appears in the contract.

Several of the themes can cause serious injury or consequences outside the agreement, and are marked "High risk" or "Legal note". The marking is not a recommendation and not a complete overview. A theme being in the contract does not make it safe, and a contract gives no right to pressure, threaten or cross a limit. Read Consent, limits and safeword before you choose.

6. Documents

Three documents can accompany the contract: the Collar certificate (a symbolic document with no legal effect), the Rule book and the Limits checklist. The Dominant chooses which ones to include. The documents are built from the answers in the form, and the Submissive can view and download them after the contract has been signed.

7. Which template should you choose?

  • If you are unsure, start with Dominant/Submissive and agreed activities with a limits list. You can add scope of authority and optional themes later, in a new contract.
  • Choose scope of authority only if the Dominant is to decide over areas of life outside the activities themselves, and you have talked it through thoroughly.
  • Choose Pup play / pet play when an animal role is the point, and Daddy/Mommy and little when care role play is.

No template replaces talking to each other.
